This Cookie Policy explains how MaxVet (“we”, “us”, “our”), accessible at maxvet.co.uk, uses cookies and similar technologies, and the choices you have. It should be read together with our Privacy Notice. MaxVet is operated by MaxPet Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17336437, registered office 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA), and this policy is written to comply with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and the UK GDPR.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember things between pages or visits — for example, to keep you securely signed in. Cookies can be “first-party” (set by us) or “third-party” (set by another organisation), and either “session” (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent” (kept for a set time).
2. The cookies we use
MaxVet uses only a small number of strictly necessary cookies. These are required to make the site work and keep your account secure. MaxVet sets no analytics, advertising or profiling cookies. The site runs one first-party script, which powers the feedback button — it sets no cookies and tracks nothing.

3. No advertising, and no consent banner
Because MaxVet sets only strictly necessary cookies, we do not show a cookie consent banner — there are no optional cookies to accept or reject. We use no advertising, marketing or profiling cookies, we do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. The only third-party script the site can load is Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-preserving security challenge shown on the sign-up form; it is used to tell humans from bots, not to track you.
4. How we count visits
We keep a simple record of page views so we know whether the site is useful and working: the page you viewed, the date and time, the page that referred you, your browser type, your IP address, and the approximate location of your internet connection (city, region, postcode district and country), which our hosting provider (Cloudflare) derives from that IP address. That location identifies the connection, typically your internet provider's local exchange — it is not your device's GPS position or your address, and we do not store coordinates. This is recorded on our server — it sets no cookie, uses no third-party analytics service, and does not follow you across other websites. We use it to understand how the site is used, and for security. We do not sell it or share it with advertisers.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (running and securing our own website). Because it sets no cookie and is limited to our own site, it does not require consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. 5. Your choices
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop core features such as signing in from working.
6. Legal basis
Under PECR, strictly necessary cookies — those essential to provide a service you have requested, such as signing in — do not require consent, but we must tell you about them, which is the purpose of this policy. If we ever introduce non-essential cookies, we will ask for your prior consent first. Where we process personal data, we do so in accordance with the UK GDPR.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
